Abalone Stew


1/2 pound fresh abalone trim (skirts), chopped
1/4 cup oil
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
7 ounce can tomato sauce
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups potatoes, diced
1/2 cup celery
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dried dill weed

Cooking Directions:

In a large sauce pan, heat oil and saute' onion until translucent. Add mushrooms and green pepper, then cook for a further 2 minutes. Add tomato sauce, water, potato, and celery. Season with salt, pepper and dill. Simmer for about 7 minutes until potato is almost done. Add more water if necessary. Stir in abalone and cook over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes more or until the abalone is tender.
